    Drawing Board Hunting

A drawing board is something that often gets confused with a desk, although they sound the same they are not, a desk is more of an organised workspace, whereas a drawing board is the place where all the drawing and art creation should be done.
A drawing board can be adjusted to your own height requirements, whereas a desk is usually at a fixed level, drawing boards viewed at a good angle when drawing create the best possible results for sketches, most times they save space too in your work room as they could be folded away after use, although most artists just create the space and surround their drawing board with the art materials to create their artwork and leave it at that.
A drawing board doesn't have to be expensive either if you are considering buying one, but also they are worth the investment if you feel you need one, they come in lots of sizes like most things which makes for a more personal choice, even though I recommend one of the larger A2 size ones, it's all about what area of work you are capable of producing, some people just stick to the standard A4 paper size, others the A3 size.
I know some artists have the full range of different sized drawing boards to use for different things which is fine if you have the money or the space to hold all these drawing aids, but if you have the largest possible surface to work on, then you could scale down your projects to fit by only having the one board.

By looking here: http://www.sellersuniononline.com you may get special discounts on drawing boards so it's worth looking and surfing the internet for some much needed savings for your art equipment.
Choosing the right drawing board is about as much to do with personal preference as using the right pencils and art markers for your drawing and sketching, it has to do with finding your own way of working that suits you and just adds a great place to do your drawing that you feel comfortable with.
